MANUSCRIPT FORMAT
ll
manuscripts must be double-spaced (including references) in 12
point font, with pages numbered consecutively throughout the entire
paper. (The title page is page one.) Allow margins of one inch
on all four sides. Papers should be left justified — do not justify
the right margin — and should follow the JM
manuscript style specifications.
The manuscript should be saved in Adobe Portable Document Format
(PDF) and submitted via the JM website. Send one PDF file that
contains all text, references, tables, figures and exhibits. Manuscripts
should not exceed fifty (50) pages, inclusive of all text, tables,
figures, appendices, etc. Do not lock the PDF file, because the
JM office will need to remove identifying information such as
author's name and affiliation. Authors should keep an exact, extra
copy of the manuscript for future reference.
PDF files allow automatic file compression, file concatenation,
and (more importantly) manuscripts to have an identical appearance
when viewed on almost any computer.
Manuscripts that report quantitative analyses of data should
typically include descriptive statistics, correlation matrices,
the results of statistical tests and so forth. If these items
are not included in the manuscript, they should be reported in
a separate technical appendix. Authors of manuscripts that report
data dependent results also must make available, upon request,
exact information regarding their procedures and stimuli (excluding
data).
If we receive a file that does not conform to the above requirements,
we will inform the author(s) and we will not begin the review
process until we receive the corrected file.
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION
Communication between the editor and authors or reviewers is
typically by email or via the JM website. Participants in the
review process, who require documents from the editor, will be
able to download them from our web server. The editor will provide
secure links to the required documents.
Lastly, the authors submitting the manuscript for review should
clearly indicate to the editor the relation of the manuscript
under review to any other manuscripts currently under review,
in press or recently published by the authors. The editor may
ask that the authors to submit copies of such related papers to
the JM office.
